Zarbee's All Natural Childrens Cough Syrup Rave Review...

I received this product a few weeks ago to review but of course I had to unfortunately wait until one of the kids got sick:(

As soon as my son, 4 1/2, started coughing I was all set to give him his first dose of Zarbee's.

Zarbee's is an all natural, immune boosting cough syrup.  It is safe for children, 12 months and up.

We received the Honey flavor but my son did not like the taste.  He took it so that is all that mattered to me! lol  I swear he stopped coughing within 10 minutes.  It was a miracle!!!!!  He was able to rest and sleep and not be bothered by his cough.

My niece also had an awful cough so I told my sister about Zarbee's.  She went to Walgreens and they had the Cherry Flavor.  That was a lot better, according to my son.  My niece also stopped coughing within 10 minutes.

I love this Cough Syrup because I don't have to worry about unsafe and dangerous ingredients.  Or bad side effects from this medicine.  I also love the fact that it is safe for children 12 months and up.

Here is a little about Zarbee's:

    • Immune boosting formulation*
    • Pediatrician recommended
    • Effective remedy to calm coughs and take the sting out of sore throats
    • Gluten, dye & preservative-free
    • Safe and natural-contains no drugs or alcohol
*These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product in not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
    Made in USA
Shake well before using. Take every 4 hours not to exceed 6 doses in 24 hours or as directed by a doctor. Dosing guide:
    • Under 12 months, not recommended
    • 12months to 5 years, 1/2 teaspoon
    • 6 years to 12 years, 1 teaspoon
    • 12 years and older, 2 teaspoons

   Ingredients
Honey Proprietary Blend , (Buckwheat , Wildflower) , Water , Natural Flavors , Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) , Malic Acid , Zinc Gluconate

Here is a You Tube video about Zarbee's.  My son didn't have the same reaction but he also doesn't like much of anything except chocolate and Starburst! lol  Maybe if it was Starburst flavor he would react like the kids in this video.

My search for the perfect Preschool for my daughter...

The past 2 weeks I have been looking into a Preschool 2 year old program for my daughter.  My 4 1/2 year old has been going to a local Preschool for 3 years now but I am not all that happy with them so I started looking somewhere else for September 2011 for my daughter.

I knew what I wanted from a school so that was easy, it was finding one that met all of our needs that was hard.

I started out with a Google search of schools in our area.  Then I went on a local chat board to search and ask for recommendations.  Then on to my Facebook to ask around for help.  The Library also helped with recommendations.

I compiled and list and started calling to make meetings for my daughter and I to tour the school and meet the teachers.

After 2 weeks, I found a school for her.  Now I am on the "list" for next year and I pray we get in!!  I have to wait until February to start calling to make sure she is in the program we want.

Now this is the criteria I wanted for her school.  Some of which my son's school did and did not have. Some of these things may not be important to some but after having my son go through Preschool (almost done) I know what is important to me.

  • Playground
  • Nice Classrooms (not a class in a gym or church office)
  • Medium Size Classes
  • Not a Cooperative
  • Snack Time
  • Certified Teachers
  • Caring Teachers
  • Nice and Understanding Director
  • Great Reputation
  • Location
  • Price
  • Days/Times
  • Excellent Curriculum for 3 & 4 year old program
  • Locked Doors
  • Music
  • Holiday Shows

Is that asking too much? Ha!!  I am so happy I found a Preschool that had all I was looking for and more.  Now on to the wait to see if we made it in...

So, What do you look for in a Preschool?  What am I missing that is important in your search?

Our Favorite Holiday Cookie Recipe & the Appliances we love to use...

For years our family has always combined Holiday Cooking and Sears Appliances.  We love to bake!  We bake pies, cookies, cakes, breads, any and all desserts you can think of. And how could we not do this without using our awesome Kenmore Stove we bought last year from Sears!  It cooks everything evenly and when we set it, we know that you will be ready at said time.

Our all time favorite recipe to bake every year is our "Pistachio Pudding Cookies."  They are super delicious and the cookies being green adds to the holiday theme we strive for.  I remember growing up and so looking forward to baking these with my Mom and now I get to do this with my children.

With this recipe you can either use a whisk to mix or for faster results, use the KitchenAid Mixer which can also be found at Sears.  I received this mixer for my Bridal Shower and use it for everything!  It sits on my kitchen counter all year long.

PISTACHIO PUDDING COOKIES

2 1/4 c. unsifted all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. butter, well softened
1/4 c. granulated white sugar
3/4 c. brownulated light brown sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond extract
1 (4 oz.) pkg. pistachio instant pudding (used dry)
2 eggs
1 (12 oz.) pkg. butterscotch morsels
1 c. chopped walnuts
Few drops green food coloring (opt.)

Mix flour and baking soda in medium bowl. Combine butter, both sugars, both extracts and instant pudding powder in large mixing bowl. Beat until smooth. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Gradually stir in flour mixture. Stir in morsels and nuts. Batter will be very stiff; mix well with floured hands. Cover bowl; chill several hours or overnight for easier shaping. Form into smooth balls by teaspoonfuls. Place 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Do not overbake. If desired, drizzle with confectioners' sugar icing mixed with a few drops green food coloring.
