I am sort of obsessed with the Royal Wedding...

Don't be scared or anything.  I am not crazy obsessed but I love the whole idea about the Royal Wedding and the new Duke & Duchess of Cambridge!  And I was one of those people up at 4:15 am watching it LIVE.

As a little girl,  I would always dream about meeting a Prince and living in a Castle.  Having people do everything for me and to be able to have a chance to really make a difference in the world.  I think most little girls dream about being a Princess.

I also think most men just don't get this fantasy and just doesn't get a woman's excitement over this entire event. On Facebook over and over I see status' about how silly it is that "we" are so wrapped up in this Royal Wedding.  I, of course defend my feelings on the matter and move on.

It was a historic day and not just your average, run of the mill wedding.  It was watching a once commoner, marry and become the future Queen and become a part of the most famous royal family in the world.  This is an event that we will not witness (knock wood) again in our lifetime.

I love Will & Kate!!  I love their love story, who they are, the way they handle themselves, their style, the way they whisper to each other, the way they look at each other, the way he protects her, everything.  And there is nothing wrong with that!  It is nice to finally see this and they are great role models for children and adults all over the world!

I hope they are forever happy and that they will do a world of good with their titles.  I cannot wait until they have babies!!  :) lol

So yeah, I am obsessed but at least it isn't drugs or drinking.  I am obsessed with a fairytale come true and true love.  Nothing wrong with that:)

Here is how my daughter spent that morning while watching the Royal Wedding:

I would like to win because I am 33 weeks pregnant with my third child. I also work two jobs as a physical therapist and must juggle the schedule of my two kids. My husband works full time and is back in school so most housework falls on me. I enjoy cleaning, but it would be a nice treat to have someone else do it for me! If I like it maybe we would continue with the service...thanks :)

New Blog Design...

So what do you think??

I LOVE IT!!

When I first started this blog almost a year ago, it was just to post pictures and share a review about a birthday party I won for my son.  Now, it has become so much more and I love every minute of it:)

I never visited a blog before starting mine so I had no idea of the possibilities and how great they could look.

I like to go from blog to blog now and look around.  I came across a blog (I don't remember which one now) that just did a re design with a women from Dreamlike Magic Designs.  I loved her website and loved the new design.  I ordered one through Dreamlike's Etsy Store.  In less then 24 hours, she had it made and even put it all on my blog for me!

I feel like a "real" blogger now:)  Now I better start posting more to live up to my new, grown up look!

22 Things To Do On Earth Day Article written by About My Planet

Earth Day is just around the corner. In case you don’t know the date, it is April 22nd, 2011. This year find new ways to celebrate Earth Day, but remember living green is better practiced daily instead of just once a year. Look below for some Earth Day Tips.

1. If you don’t have curbside recycling take your recycling materials to a local school or library with recycling bin. Schools and libraries are paid for the material they recycle. The money they earn goes to providing better services at these facilities (more books, renovations, student trips, etc.).
2. Refer a local non-profit organization to a program like Abitibi Recycling Program or something similar. To make the referral log on to the Abitibi Recycling Program website and fill out the referral form. Abitibi will contact your referral and set it all up for free. The local non-profit organization will earn money for the material they recycle.
3. Start a compost pile, or buy a compost bin to place your leaves and kitchen scraps inside.
4. Take the bus today. If the bus stop is too far away ride your bike to the bus stop. Did you know many buses now have bike racks to place your bikes while riding the bus?
5. Carpool. If your coworker lives on the way to your commute to work go ahead and pick him/her up.
6. Spring clean you home, office or company and donate your unwanted, but still good items, to a resale shop, a church, the Salvation Army or other charity. Your home, your conscious and the earth will be cleaner for it.
7. If you haven’t done so yet replace your light bulbs with energy efficient ones.
8. Donate your electronics to programs such as: Cell Phone for Soldiers, America’s Computers for Kids, etc.
9. Donate money to your favorite green cause.
10. Write a letter or email to your favorite green companies thanking them for doing their part for the environment.
11. Plant a plant or more with your family and if possible with you neighbors.
12. Go online and search for educational recycling crafts (such as making new paper out of old shredded paper) for kids and adults. When you find useful website bookmark them to easily refer to them on rainy days.
13. Be creative and come up with an innovative way to live green.
14. Adopt a beach, a park, or a street and help clean it up.
15. Log on to Earth Day and register to vote.
16. Go to an Earth Day Event. To find a location nearest you visit Earth Day Network.
17. Freecycle! Freecycle! Freecycle!
18. Have a garage sale. You will be surprised at what people will buy at garage sales. You’ll earn a few dollars; clean out your home and help your old items find new homes.
19. Forward links of environmental websites like AboutMyPlanet.com to your friends and family.
20. Organize your address and phone list of resale shops, thrift stores, consignments stores, recycling center and other green locations in an address book. Keep a copy of this list in your car. In addition map out how far away these locations are from each other to save gas when you visit several of these locations at a time.
21. Sign a “green” petition you approve of.
22. Share what you’ve done or plan to do for Earth Day below.

Happy Earth Day!

Gogo's Crazy Bones Review...

A little background and facts about Gogo's Crazy Bones before I tell you about our experience with them.

  • Gogo's Crazy Bones were inspired by an Ancient Greek game called Knucklebones.
  • Series 1 was released in North America in 2011, consisting of 80 different characters and each available in 5 colors.
  • Gogo's are not only a cool toy to collect but they are also great for educational purposes!  They can aide in counting, colors, and social skills.
  • Gogo's are sold in the US in packets of three, five, and six and also in collector's tins.  Each Gogo comes with a sticker.
  • The most popular Gogo is called Mosh.
  • The Most Wanted Gogo's are: Angiru, Ichiro, Hiraku, Fist and B-Boy.
  • Gogo's was named Collectable Toy of the Year at the BYHA toy Industry Awards in 2009.
  • Over 310,000,000 Gogo's have already been sold worldwide.

Now, onto my review of Gogo's.  They are very cool!  Both of my children love them!  My 4 1/2 year old went crazy opening them all up to see who we got and had so much fun matching them up with the poster we received.  We never saw them before except on a commercial so we had no idea what to expect.  I thought they were rubber but they are a very hard plastic type material.  And they are a little bigger then I thought they would be!  Gogo's are intended for ages 4 and up because they are small but I supervised play with my 2 year old daughter and she loved them just as much as my son.

After opening them up and matching them to the poster, we then went to the sticker book that you can also purchase and matched up the stickers with the book.  It is so cool to see all the different designs and how crazy some of them are.  We love the crazy looking ones:)

Then we went on to play the games.  All the rules are in the sticker book.  We played Scoring which was awesome!  You hold the Gogo's on your finger on the back of the Gogo and flip them.  Depending on how they land, is how many points you get. I was so amazed to hear my son adding up all the points as we went along.  I had no idea he could even do that!  Then we tried Bowling!  It is what the name sounds like. This was a blast.  We tried to follow the rules but after trying it, my son made up his own rules and we just went with them.  Next we will try Battle.  I hope I win;)

On April 9th Gogo's Crazy Bones and Walgreen's held the One Million Gogo's Giveaway!  The largest ever in Walgreen's History!  They gave away one Gogo per person at all Walgreen's in North America.  This giveaway was to help launch the limited edition "Miro-K" Gogo.  They placed 5,000 throughout the US and this was the one everyone wanted.  I was one of those people driving around trying to get my son the "Miro-K" but we had no such luck.  We did get some really cool ones though.

This is really a great toy that everyone in the family can have fun with!  Great for family game night or anytime.  We are bringing them with us on your upcoming cruise at my son's request.  The most wanted will be staying home though.  We don't want to lose those.

Gogo's are available in a lot of stores now like Toys R' Us, Walgreen's.  Check out their website for the location nearest you, for contests and other cool information - Gogo's Crazy Bones Website

*I was given samples of Gogo's Crazy Bones to review.  All opinions written are my own except for the facts.  They are direct from the Gogo Crazy Bones Press Release*

Coloring Easter Eggs, Whisk Style!

I am so thankful that last year online I found a way to color eggs for Easter without the mess!  Use a whisk!!  It worked like a charm!!!  No messy hands, no splashing, no cracked eggs from dropping them into the dye.  The eggs fit so secure in the whisk and it is so easy for even the littlest ones to participate!

Here are some pictures from last Easter when we first tried out the whisk idea.

Maid Brigade Tips on Easy Spring Cleaning & Giveaway...CLOSED

In honor of Earth Day, Maid Brigade Suffolk County, the only Green Clean certified housecleaning company in the area is giving away a 2 hour priority cleaning - 2 maids for 2 hours (the homeowner can pick the chores). In addition, Robert LoFranco, owner of Maid Brigade Suffolk County has several easy spring cleaning tips to share.

Easy Changes To Create a Sustainable Home
Earth Day is the perfect opportunity to jump-start a personal campaign to kick the chemical habit and create a sustainable home. Protecting the environment inside the home is a vital step in preserving the health and wellness of today's families and the environment as a whole.
Why Green Cleaning? If harsh chemicals are removing dirt, grime, dust and germs from your home, what is removing the harsh chemicals?

Sufficient scientific evidence links chemicals in traditional house cleaning products to various health problems from the chronic to acute, and barely detectable to debilitating. Children, the elderly and pets are especially susceptible to the risks posed by chemicals in house cleaning products.  People are taking note and beginning to demand green house cleaning products that are safer yet still effective.
10 Green Spring Cleaning tips from Robert LoFranco, Maid Brigade Suffolk County
1.            Get rid of baggage. Try on clothes that are not worn frequently. Get rid of anything that does not look good, fit or hasn't been worn in a while. Donate these clothes, give them to a friend, turn them into rags, or sell them for some extra cash.
2.            Out of sight, out of mind.  Moving household items to the basement or attic is an easy way to put clutter out of sight and therefore, out of mind. For a deep home cleaning, attack these piles one at a time and enjoy tidy storage areas once and for all.
3.            Chill out. Clear the top of the refrigerator.  Piled up cereal boxes and kitchenware prevents heat from venting properly and causes the fridge to use extra energy. Cleaning the coils on the back of the fridge and the grill underneath will also reduce the energy the fridge needs to work properly.
4.            What's cooking? To clean oven surfaces, coat them in a paste of water and baking or washing soda and let stand overnight. Then, scrub off the paste while wearing gloves.
5.            Broom makeover. Many house cleaning services will cover broom bristles with old nylons to sweep dusty areas. Why? The nylon will pick up dust bunnies instead of scattering them.
6.            Switch your sheets. Polyester/cotton and permanent press cotton sheets are treated with a formaldehyde finish, which cannot be washed out. Common symptoms from this immunotoxicant include runny nose, itchy eyes, and other cold and flu symptoms. Avoid these blends as often as possible.
7.            Let the sun shine in. When reorganizing a home office, library, or other rooms where studying or reading takes place, set up desks, chairs and tables by a window that receives ample natural sunlight. This will reduce the need to turn on overhead lights.
8.            Leave shoes at the door. Asphalt, pesticides, herbicides, and other toxic chemicals often get stuck to the soles of shoes. Wearing shoes inside means exposing children and pets to harmful chemicals. To avoid more house cleaning than is necessary, make one simple rule and stick to it:  No shoes in the house!
9.            Smell the roses.  Avoid air fresheners. An open box of baking soda removes odors. Cedar blocks or sachets of dried flowers and herbs provide gentle scents, but avoid any potpourri that lists unspecified "fragrance" on the label.
10.            Spin cycle. To remove stains from clothing (especially salt-stained winter wear), soak fabrics in water mixed with borax, lemon juice, hydrogen peroxide, washing soda, or white vinegar for a natural approach.

How to win it:
Contest will run from April 13th 2011 until 11:59 p.m. EST  April 27th, 2011.
